Police Lt. Ron Dougard told WOBM News that an employee and one customer inside the store around 6:15 this morning were uninjured.

Based on surveillance, the driver appears to have pulled up to the entrance and forgot to put the van in park, according to the Asbury Park Press. "You can see him try to get out, and the van shoots forward and hits the building, then he just backs up and leaves," Dougard said.

An empty adjacent store also was damaged. The 7-Eleven was closed while Brick's Building Department repaired the entrance.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Officer Dave Thergesen at 732-477-8300.
