Shore Eatery Named ‘Best Kept Secret’ in NJ

When it comes to amazing dining options, Monmouth County isn't lacking. It's about time one of our more unassuming eateries got some pub!

Only In Your State did a spotlight on Val's Tavern in Rumson, and they were spot on.

Val's is a perfect example of how you can't always judge a book by its cover.

To the passer-by, Val's looks like just another house. That couldn't be further from the truth. There is quite a bit of history in the tiny tavern. It's been a Monmouth County staple since 1942.

Val's does many things right, but their pizza is the bomb.

Whether it's traditional Grandma's Pie like this:

or lobster pie for summer,

Val's slices are perfect. The crust is not too thick, and not too thin. They found perfection.

It's a great place to watch the game or listen to some really good live music. If you're looking for a night of drinking, Val's is perfect. If you want to sit down for a meal, Val's is also perfect.
