Thousands of storm-displaced people still living in hotels will find the federal funds facilitating it drying up on December 27. Those who think they have nowhere to turn might find relief as near as a phone.

The NJ Housing Resource Center is a clearing house where hurricane victims who need living space can link to landlords and homeowners with rooms to offer.

The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency within the state Department of  Community Affairs oversees it in collaboration with the non-profit Sandy survivors can search long- and short-term housing solutions.
