The NJ Housing Resource Center is a clearing house where hurricane victims who need living space can link to landlords and homeowners with rooms to offer.

The New Jersey Housing and Mortgage Finance Agency within the state Department of  Community Affairs oversees it in collaboration with the non-profit Socialserve.com. Sandy survivors can search long- and short-term housing solutions.

The service is free at http://www.njhrc.gov. Anyone without Internet access can call 1-877-428-8844. Operators at the phone banks are bilingual.
