Toms River man arrested twice within two days for two DWI crashes
A Toms River man who rolled the dice by driving drunk got arrested not once but twice for two separate DWI related accidents.
On Thursday, police said that Samual Kovacsy, 42, was heading east on Mount Lane heading towards Vincent Street when he rolled past a stop sign and collided with some bricks and then a tree around 11:54 am.
Kovacsy was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and issued summons for Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Failing to Stop for a Posted Stop Sign, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle along with additional summons.
On Saturday, Kovacsy was heading west on Kettle Creek Road crossing Hooper Avenue and struck a curb near Silverton Funeral Home before striking a speed limit sign, the entrance sign to the funeral home, a parked car and another tree around 12:33 pm.
Kovacsy was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and issued summons for Reckless Driving, Failure to Maintain Lane, Open Container of Alcohol in a Motor Vehicle, along with additional summons.
The accidents are being investigated by Toms River Traffic Safety Officer P.J. Gambardella.
