Toddler Drowns in Stafford Swimming Pool

Family of a two-year-old girl thought the child was watching television until noticing a back sliding glass door open. They found the toddler floating in the swimming pool of a home on Buccaneer Lane in Stafford Township around 4:22 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Spokesman Al Della Fave told Patch.com when police arrived, they found the child's uncle performing CPR. The girl was rushed to Southern Ocean County Hospital in Stafford, where she was pronounced dead less than 30 minutes later.

The Prosecutor's Office and Stafford Police are conducting a joint investigation.
