As we roll into summer here in Ocean County, we've had an amazing stretch of days, with comfortable temperatures, low humidity, and clear skies. But today, we're getting a taste of the other kind of weather that we can expect this time of year - hot, humid and muggy.

Suffice to say, this winter has been pretty weird as far as weather goes.

Well, we haven't had a lot of these this Summer.  It looks like rain all day.  A muggy wet, kind of day where it would be great to just stay under the covers!  Maybe it's a day to jump in the puddles!

The first full week of summer started off stormy in Ocean County, and we got some amazing pictures to show for it.

Yesterday, Toms River, Seaside Heights, and the surrounding areas got a front row seat for a show of Mother Nature's power. Intense storms rolled through right during the afternoon commute, and we caught some wild pictures and video from the WOBM offices. Take a look:

As warm, humid days become more numerous here in Ocean County, we all know what that means - severe weather.

Summer has barely hit the halfway mark and already storms have resulted in hundreds of thousands of outages in the Garden State, but just like families prepare for snow emergencies there should be a plan for summer storms as well.
