As rain overtakes much of Ocean County this afternoon, and WOBM Meteorologist Dan Zarrow tells us that it's likely to continue through Friday as well, we want to know how you make the best of days like today.
Many of us started our day today with a deafening thunderstorm and torrential rain. While the midday hours have been clear of bad weather, we could see a return of this morning's meteorological drama just in time for the afternoon commute.
With temperatures over the next few days approaching the 90s, and heat indexes even getting close to 100, it's going to get uncomfortable for a couple of days. But, if you ask me, the dog days of summer are still not as bad as the dead of winter.
Now that we've checked all of the boxes to make summer official; it's past Memorial Day weekend, the kids are out of school, and the beaches are open, there are plenty of vacationers visiting Ocean County, but also plenty of locals getting away for vacations of our own.
Yesterday, most Ocean County municipalities were just able to sneak their 4th of July fireworks in before the rain moved in and soaked the festivities. As I sit on the beach in Seaside Park watching beach goers enjoying the surf, there will be a lot of people enjoying the water this long holiday weekend, both natural and man-made. So I'm asking for your opinion - do you prefer swimming in a pool or the ocean?
