Summer 2014

As we watch the summer tourists head back up the Parkway and reflect on summer 2014, one of the things that a lot of us are realizing - the mild season definitely helped give us some much needed utility bill relief.

If there's one sure sign of the end of a holiday weekend in Ocean County, it's the bumper to bumper traffic on the Garden State Parkway.

So, here we are, in the last few days before Labor Day Weekend. For many, the unofficial end of summer. But, for those of us in the know, it's not the end of summer, it's just the beginning of "Locals Summer".

As much as we may not want to admit it, Labor Day is right around the corner and we all know what that means - the kids will be back in school before we know it.

This has not been my week. The more people I talk to, though, it seems like it's not just me. Has it been like that for everyone?

It's been pretty typical summer weather here in Ocean County so far. And by that, I mean that we've had just about everything - heat & humidity, strong thunderstorms, and days of absolute perfection. Luckily for us, tomorrow is supposed to be another of the latter. So it'll be another perfect day to join us in Seaside Park!

Suffice to say that my experiences in homeownership over the last year and change haven't been all rainbows and unicorns. And last night I had yet another situation pop up. You can probably guess from the picture alone where I'm going with this.

Summer in Ocean County is a time for BBQs, swimming, enjoying the beach, and of course carnivals. And as the season continues, carnivals are popping up here and there. So what thrill rides do you look forward to when the carnival comes to your town?

I'm due for a vacation. And I truly want to get away from it all. But I need your help.
