We've been having a pretty epic run of hot and humid days. And what can be more refreshing on a muggy 90 degree day than an ice cold cup of lemonade? Well, apparently if you're in some areas of Ocean County, setting up a lemonade stand is a good way to get a quick childhood lesson in code enforcement.

With a whole lot of people shopping today as Amazon's "Prime Day" has grown to become a shopper's delight on par with Black Friday, we can be sure that in addition to the joy of catching a deal, plenty of people will also have buyer's remorse.

I could go back to the well of "should we be able to pump our own gas?" over and over again, and we could get a brisk debate going about it every time. But this isn't about whether we should be able to or not, it's about one of the things that still happens when getting a fill-up that drives me crazy..

As of this writing we are mere hours away from Memorial Day weekend and the unofficial start to summer in Ocean County. With that in mind, I thought that this would be the perfect time to share some tips for those who will be visiting our area this season...

I openly admit that I complain a lot. And a good bit of the complaining that I do in these pages centers on people's highway habits.But there is one habit in particular that I haven't had a chance to write about yet. And it's something that I think is worse than just about everything else that one can do on the roads.

My drive to work today was a bit of a nail-biter. And no, it wasn't because of snowy or icy roads. It wasn't because of an accident, construction, or backed up traffic. It was because of the people who still don't understand the concept of clearing all of the snow off of their cars.

For many Ocean County residents, it's the main artery between the Shore and the rest of New Jersey, whether North or South. While the Garden State Parkway has indeed made many improvements over the last few years in particular, there are still stretches of the roadway that can lead to white-knuckle rides...

I've said it before and I'll say it again - yes, I have become a grumpy old man. But when I see things like in the video above, I think that my sour attitude is shared by many.
