Primary Elections

Governor-wide, battle lines for November's elections run along the lines that most political analysts anticipated. A couple of upsets marked local contests but set the stage for what promise to be lively November races.

Voter turnout for Primary Election Day, June 6, is expected to be light throughout New Jersey. Here at the shore, the promise of rain doesn't help any efforts to reverse the trend. Yet, Ocean County voters have the potential to reshape the state, county and municipal landscapes.

Primary Day has come and gone in the Garden State and November's election looks a little more clear now.

Primary elections ordinarily don't draw overwhelming waves of voters to the ballot boxes. However, this year we're electing a governor, state legislators, a pair of freeholders and numerous mayors, and some face intra-party opposition.
