Police departments around New Jersey are warning Pokemon Go players to be careful in their quest to catch 'em all.

Pokémon Go fever may be one of the fastest breakout fads ever. In only a week, it has become one of the most used apps in the countries that it was officially released in. In that time, you may have noticed hordes of people wandering around staring at their phones. Particularly in Downtown Toms River. Here's why:

You may be thinking, “But there’s already a live-action Pokemon. It’s called Pokemon GO and it makes me take my dog on extra walks!” Yes, yes, but just in case your personal, semi-live-action experience with the latest app craze isn’t enough, those long-developing plans for a new Pokemon movie have gotten a little more developed as Legendary is making a push to secure rights to the hit game franchise.

It's episode 4 of the "Jersey Shore Journal" and this time around it's all about the "Pokemon Go" craze! Millions are playing this new game around the world and right here at the Jersey Shore. We took our video camera out and wanted to talk with the "Pokemon Hunters" as they make their way through Downtown Toms River...

"I went to the waterfront and there was an unusual amount of people walking around with their phones guiding them," said Keyport resident David Youssef, who's logged about 10 hours of game play since the app launched in early July. "There are herds of people walking around, catching Pokemon."

I saw an interesting sight when I was walking around the corner for lunch in downtown Toms River this afternoon - groups of people looking down at their phones while walking down Robbins Street, trying to find the numerous "Pokéstops" on the street.

My kids grew up with Pokemon ... Collecting cards, toys and video games, some of which they still have! But now it seems the Pokemon craze is back! It's "Pokemon Go" a new game that has both kids and adults playing , and we are seeing this all over the Jersey Shore. ...
