The ongoing flaws of New Jersey's bail reform law revisions has contributed, at least in part, to the rising amount of car thefts and vehicle burglaries all over the state including in Monmouth County.

Under the Murphy administration, there have now been approximately 6,200 prison inmates released early, including 852 more than a week ago over the last two years in New Jersey.

"If you do have to have to go out, give yourself plenty of time and driving distance between vehicles because it's very slippery out there right now."

Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden said that there are 22 inmates at the MC Correctional Facility charged with resisting arrest, assaulting a police officer, domestic violence and child endangerment offenses that should not be released.

Monmouth County Freeholders, Senior Advisory Council, Sheriff's Office and Office of Emergency Management have put together a special emergency evacuation bag for seniors and caregivers to help them be ready to go.

While fighting crime is a main focus of what law enforcement in Monmouth County does on a daily basis, Sheriff's officers this month are supporting the fight against breast cancer during the month of October.
