Toms River, New Jersey has another reason to be proud right now! Chris Ashenfelder, a Toms River North graduate is a local hero. Chris is 21 years old and currently living in Hawaii while he serves in the U.S. Navy and now he has one heck of a rescue under his belt!

This story is exactly why I only like so much nature. I'll marvel at it as long as I don't have to navigate it, sleep in it or worry about surviving it. A local Freehold family was recently rescued after getting lost on a mountain hike in Maine.

I am prone to losing umbrellas so I have stopped using them. A hooded jacket is what I wear instead. I've read some tips for people who tend to leave umbrellas behind. One suggestion is to stick the velcro to a shoelace when you put the umbrella down on the floor at a restaurant or on a bus, for example. Another is to invest in a good quality more expensive umbrella that you'll be paranoid about losing. The thought there is to stop treating the average $10 umbrella as disposable. Another tip is to rest the umbrella in an upright position so you're more likely to see it when leaving. What suggestions do YOU have for us forgetful folks?

I’ve confessed before to losing things in my house quite often.  Eyeglasses and keys seem to be the items I have the most trouble with.  Well guess where my keys turned up last night?  In the washing machine! Thankfully, the keys and washer seem fine...
