Trader Joe's is expanding in New Jersey - would you like to see more locations at the Jersey Shore?

Just because you're able to take a cart full of groceries to a self-checkout station, doesn't mean that you should.

As Toms River's Aldi reopens after 3 months of remodeling, Lacey Township's Lidl project still sits in limbo.

Back in the spring, we told you about the plans that German mega-mart company Lidl has been making for their first foray into the Garden State, which included plans for a location in Lacey Township.

It seems like for every store that opens in our area, at least two close. After a spate of grocery store closures in the last few years, another long time supermarket is shuttering for good.

New stores coming to the area is always a popular topic of conversation, and possibly as soon as this year, a European mega-chain could be opening some of its first American doors right here in Ocean County.

I was going to start this out by saying that I learned a lesson this past weekend, but that wouldn't be totally accurate. What I can say is that I had a longstanding piece of knowledge reinforced.

It's been a tough year for grocery stores in Ocean County. With Toms River's Foodtown shuttering last summer, and Brick's Path Mark following only a few months later, there have been plenty of suggestions for popular stores to take their places.
