I don't like fall.
To me, the arrival of fall just confirms that summer is over and winter is next. But there is one fall activity that I really love.
The weather is pretty crummy today. And, unfortunately, it's not looking like it's going to get a whole lot better until late this weekend. So what's the best way to spend these kinds of days?
The Glow: A Jack O' Lantern Experience is only two weeks away! The great family event is coming to Monmouth Park Racetrack for weekends in October, starting the 7th. In anticipation, Jack, The Glow's mascot, made his way to Ocean County yesterday to get in the Halloween mood!
This morning, I made my way to Toms River High School East, the home of the Raiders, and the winners of our inaugural Ocean County Mascot Madness contest to present them with their well deserved award.

We've covered this topic pretty thoroughly at this point - summer is effectively over. No more sleeping late. 'Tis the season to set the alarms early to make sure that the kids catch the bus. So not only does it change our daily routines, but it changes our weekend routines as well.
As of this writing, Halloween is 7 1/2 weeks away. Almost two months. But with Labor Day in the rear view mirror, people are embracing the first holiday of the fall season in Ocean County.
We're getting ready for The Glow, coming to Monmouth Park Racetrack in just a few short weeks! With over 5,000 carved Jack 'O Lanterns, The Garden State will be well represented.
