I don't know what it is about backyard do it yourself thrill rides, but it seems to be a trend these days. First, we showed you this backyard looping water slide, then this video of a backyard roller coaster went viral. I didn't even realize until I was doing paperwork that it was exactly six months to the day from the time that my condo flooded to the time that the repair work was officially completed.

As I mentioned yesterday, after a painful, six month long process, my home is finally getting back to a useable state.

A couple of months ago, I bought my first home, a condo. As many of you know, after the papers are signed and the boxes are moved, the work is only just beginning.

About a month ago, I became a first time homeowner. Once the glow wore off, it was time to start ticking items off of the to-do list. "Remove wallpaper" was #1 (take a look at that wallpaper and you can see why). I quickly discovered that it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.

There can definitely be times that we take home for granted. Especially those of us who are creatures of habit and more or less do the same thing every weekday. It's one of those things that we may not fully appreciate until we've been away for an extended time.

As you can see in the picture, my kitchen is a bit of a mess at the moment.
