I didn't even realize until I was doing paperwork that it was exactly six months to the day from the time that my condo flooded to the time that the repair work was officially completed.

As I mentioned yesterday, after a painful, six month long process, my home is finally getting back to a useable state.

Six months ago, I had a pretty unpleasant experience. I came home to a flooded ground floor in the condo that I had only owned for a couple of months.

They came to Monmouth County following Sandy and allegedly submitted estimates to undercover investigators to perform repairs.  Now, eight unregistered home improvement contractors have been criminally charged or civilly cited for allegedly violating the state's Home Improvement Contractors' Registration Act.

New Jersey inspectors have found 124 unregistered contractors doing work on homes damaged by Superstorm Sandy since January.
