I'll be honest I don't know why they call them "stink" bugs? I know they can give off a scent if bothered, but I have never smelt the "stank" am I just lucky? lol
So my Wife found this caterpillar in her backyard garden and she described it as looking like a dog with a saddle on its back. Maybe a little like a dachshund aka "hot dog" lol but whatever it looks like, this bug packs a bite!

Why are so many people so quick to eat cicada bugs? Apparently, they taste darn good as a hard-serve ice cream, because the concoction sold out in minutes at one New Jersey ice cream shop.
We already told you about those 17 year periodical cicadas emerging this spring...BILLIONS of these bugs lie dormant for 17 years and then pop up though the ground like a horror movie. That is supposed to happen this May. Well hang onto your hat because apparently this influx of cicadas triggers other things to happen like an increase in pit vipers! PIT VIPERS!
These bugs are not a welcomed sight and I recently spotted some having lunch on one of our oak trees! So I began wondering if YOU at home remember the infestation of the early 70's and 80's? and lets hope we don't see that ever again.
