Blueberries

To highlight National Blueberry Day, July 8, New Jersey Department of Agriculture staff will be on hand at three locations until supplies last.

The official fruit of New Jersey is the blueberry. In fact in 2003 fourth grade students at Veteran’s Memorial Elementary School in Brick Township campaigned to make the delicious blueberry the official State fruit here in the “Garden State”. Lawmakers in Trenton granted the Brick kids wish and made the blueberry the official fruit in 2004.

Blueberry Coffee is the New Pumpkin Spice of Summer ..... Our friends at WAWA make sure we get our supply of pumpkin spice coffee every year, but now there a new twist. Is “blueberry” now the pumpkin spice of summer?

It's blueberry season in the Garden State and it's a big time of year for farmers around the state.
