The Emerson College/PIX 11 poll says Gov. Phil Murphy is at 50% and Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli at 44%. Add in leaners and the gap is 4 points.
Nine days of early voting are being held in New Jersey for the first time, from Oct. 23 to Oct. 31. There are between three and 10 sites in each county.
The choice is yours and every race matters for many reasons. What happens in your town, school district, county and state can stay the status quo or change depending on who gets voted in.
Vote-by-mail ballots have already begun being mailed, and debates begin Sept. 28. The registration deadline is Oct. 12, and early voting starts Oct. 23.
