2012 Election

President Barack Obama was declared the winner of Florida's 29 electoral votes Saturday, ending a four-day count with a razor-thin margin that narrowly avoided an automatic recount that would have brought back memories of 2000.

Election night 2012 is in the history books.  Now, the politics can step aside for a bit and the real work in Washington can begin.

Well, that didn't take long. Less than 12 hours after Governor Mitt Romney gave his concession speech and President Barack Obama gave his victory address, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was being peppered by questions about his aspirations for higher office in 2016.

Republican incumbents coasted to re-election Tuesday night, preserving the GOP's control of the freeholder board and sheriff's office as the "Clean Slate" takes over the Board of Education.

As expected, incumbent New Jersey U.S. Senator Bob Menendez has easily defeated his republican challenger Joe Kyrillos.

It was a defeat for Joe Kyrillos, the Republican challenger for U.S. Senate in New Jersey, who never figured out a way to beat a better-known, more financed incumbent.
