My guy and I tried a new restaurant last night.  We loved everything about it.  Until the bill came.  That special shrimp dish that he ordered at the recommendation of the waitress cost twice as much as all the other entrees!

He raved about the meal all night so we'll chalk this up to experience.  Next time, we won't be shy about asking the server for the price of the specials.  But should we have to ask?

Some establishments have the specials written on a board but this one was a verbal rundown given by our server.  She made every special sound delicious...like a "must have."  But there was no mention of the cost of these entrees.

I guess restaurants don't want to risk diners being scared away by the higher priced specials.  But I believe in honesty and full-disclosure so I think it's best to say the prices up front.  We customers work hard for our money and should be able to make informed decisions about what we order.

What do you think?  Customers and those work in the restaurant industry, I'd love to see your comments below!
