Seaside Park Water Spout Captured On Camera [Photo]

This has been a week of rocky weather for large portions of New Jersey, but so far Ocean County has escaped the worst of it.

The heat and humidity this week lead to some pretty strong storms, especially north of us.

Thousands were left without power in North Jersey on Wednesday, and if you missed this absolutely bananas video of a bolt of lightning zapping the Statue of Liberty this week, it's truly a thing to behold:

The worst of the storms fizzled out before they made it here to Ocean County.

From my home on the northern edge of the county, we got a little bit of rain, with just a few heavy bursts and a lot of distant lightning, but that was about it.

On Friday morning, though, someone in Seaside Park was definitely in the right place at the right time and caught a photo of a water spout over the ocean:

Things are expected to stay wet for most of the afternoon and into the evening on Friday with just a chance for some rumbles of thunder, but as of this writing there aren't any active thunderstorm watches or warnings for Ocean County.

Things will dry out after today and the temperatures will soar once again with 90s returning by Sunday and a chance for heat indexes in parts of the state to hit the triple digits by Monday.
