A 19-year-old Asbury Park man faces 90 days in jail after admitting to failure to provide sustenance and veterinary care for a seven-month-old Pit Bull puppy named Heaven. Tyshon Taylor's Mother and Grandmother also confessed to similar charges today and could each be fined $500 dollars. They would all also be banned for life from owning any more animals.

According to the Asbury Park Press, Taylor kept the puppy tethered to a pole in the basement. It was his Grandmother who noticed the dog was ill and unable to stand and brought the emaciated puppy to the Shrewsbury Animal Hospital in Tinton Falls in November. The animal hospital notified Monmouth County SPCA Officer Victor "Buddy" Amato.

Not knowing whether Heaven would survive, the pit bull puppy is now thriving after the ordeal. The plight of the puppy drew an outpouring of support internationally.
