Toms River Fire Company #1 hosts the annual parade and posted the warning in a message on its Facebook Page.

The precaution is being taken in the wake of the garbage can pipe bomb explosion in Seaside Park on September 17, along the Semper Five 5K course.

Any chairs placed on the sidewalks to reserve a spot days or weeks before, will be confiscated by police.

Parade organizers have said uniformed and plainclothes officers will be among the spectators this year as well.

The parade steps off at 7 p.m. on Halloween. The procession will make its way down Main Street to Washington Street. The rain date is Nov. 1.
