WEST WINDSOR — A convicted sex offender living in Somerset County has been charged with luring underage boys into a locker room at Mercer County Community College and showering naked in front of them.

Adam Woolf, 23, posed as a maintenance employee in the school's physical education building on the night of Feb. 7 and told children who are swimming that the chlorine levels were too high and could damage their bathing suits, Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofri said.

Three of the boys, all under the age of 13, then went into a locker room with Woolf who encouraged them to shower naked as he took of his clothes and showered, officials said.

Onofri said two girls also reported Woolf had followed them into the women's locker room making similar claims.

Prosecutors say he was stopped by school security.

He was charged with five counts of second-degree luring, three counts of fourth-degree lewdness, and five counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child. On Wednesday, a judge granted a prosecutor's motion to continue to keep him in custody until trial.

Woolf was convicted in 2007 of criminal sexual conduct when he was 14-years-old. He was listed as a Tier 3 high-risk offender under Megan's Law.
