2019 was a lucky year for Ocean County with more than a million dollars worth of New Jersey Lottery winnings going to our area last year.

It looks like that luck is continuing into 2020 with the first nice chunk of change going to a Toms River shopper thanks to the Wednesday (January 8th) Powerball drawing.

The Powerball ticket that was bought at the BJ's Wholesale Club on Route 37 matched 4 of the 5 white balls for a $50,000 payday.

Here are the winning numbers:

02, 04, 07, 43 and 56

The red Power Ball was 22, and the Powerplay multiplier was 04.

One New Jersey player in Morris County matched 4 balls and dropped the extra buck on the Powerplay, which quadrupled their winnings to a sweet $200,000.

There were no jackpot winners, so the next Powerball drawing on Saturday (January 11th) pushes the big win to $277,000,000.
