According to a recent article from Lovefood, "Whether you’re craving a big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs or something a little more refined, there's no lack of amazing Italian restaurants across the US. You can choose from family-run delis with a few tables attached, old-school pizza spots cooking to the same recipe for generations, and fine dining restaurants that serve everything from hyper-regional cuisine to Italian American favorites."

For me, I love a classic like spaghetti and meatballs or just a simple ziti dish or maybe even ravioli. The sauce or "gravy" is extremely important as is the pasta. The simpler the better for me when it comes to Italian cooking, just make sure it's delicious.

According to Lovefood, the best Italian restaurant in New Jersey is located in Middlesex County. "Catherine Lombardi, New Brunswick is named after owner Mark Pascal’s grandmother, who came to the US from Naples. Honoring her, the menu is based on Lombardi's recipes, and customers love the cozy atmosphere almost as much as the comforting dishes. Among the top-rated menu items are the garlic bread, goats' cheese and spinach ravioli, and fried calamari with sweet and spicy marinara."

According to their website, Catherine Lombardi's "primary goal is to be a welcoming place for New Brunswick locals and visitors from the four corners of the planet.  Whether it’s a civilized drink and an appetizer at the bar, or a tasting menu in the dining room, we’re always happy to have you."
