New Jersey Outlaws Coffee In The Car?

No coffee in your car? there is legislation being introduced in Trenton that would outlaw your morning coffee, because it's too much of a distraction while driving! Bill # A-1908 would make it a crime to use electronic devices, eat and drink (Non-Alcoholic) while driving!

According to a recent Patch article the measure would place fines from "$200 to $400 for the first offense, $400 to $600 for a second offense and $600 to $800 for a third or subsequent offense. A third violation may also result in a driver’s license suspension of up to 90 days and a motor vehicle points penalty at the court’s discretion".

The bill is sponsored by Assemblyman John Wisniewski, (D) from Middlesex County and Nicholas Chiaravalloti, a (D) from Hudson County.
