Man wanted for allegedly trying to run over South Toms River Cop

South Toms River police are seeking a man who allegedly tried hitting a police officer with his car early Wednesday.

45-year-old Colby Hayles of Toms River is wanted on charges of knowingly fleeing and officer and aggravated assault for attempting to cause bodily injury to an officer by attempting to hit the officer with his vehicle, according to the Department's Facebook page.

Authorities said Hayles was last seen driving a brown, 2015 Hyundai Elantra with New Jersey license plates CCBD96.
