Due to the fact that she has a tear in her right hip, Lady Gaga has been forced to cancel the rest of her Born This Way Ball tour.

The singer was in the middle of the North American leg of the global trek. This leg kicked off in early January and was scheduled to run through March.

Gaga, who plans to release the new album 'ARTPOP' this year, had to cancel three dates earlier this week due to inflammation of the joints. Further tests revealed that her condition was more serious and that she has an injury requiring surgery, extensive recovery and rest.

Below is the statement confirming that the tour is indeed canceled.

Live Nation Global Touring has confirmed that the remainder of the Lady Gaga Born This Way Ball performances have been canceled.

After additional tests this morning to review the severity of the issue, it has been determined that Lady Gaga has a labral tear of the right hip. She will need surgery to repair the problem, followed by strict down time to recover. This unfortunately, will force her to cancel the tour, so she can heal.

Refunds for the canceled performances will be available at point of purchase starting Feb. 14, 2013.
