When my oldest son was born in 2008 the Phillies won the World Series and that year Chase Utley was super popular in the South Jersey and Philadelphia area.

Researchers are looking ahead to 2025 to identify emerging trends in baby names for the upcoming year.

So what are the 2025 baby name trends?

It appears that "boyish" nicknames are expected to be pretty popular for girls which I think is adorable.

Baby name expert Laura Wattenberg for Today.com says, "Hawaiian-sounding names will also be big in the new year" for both boys and girls.

Here are the top 5 names for girls and the top 5 names for boys expected to be the trendiest in 2025, in no particular order, according to Today.com.
