Every week this season, Shore Conference football fans will have their chance to vote for the Ocean County Sports Medicine Shore Conference Football Player of the Week on our website. The winner of the poll each week will receive a $25 gift card to Burger 25 in Toms River.

The winner of the Week 2 Player of the Week award is Toms River North senior linebacker Ty Kazanowsky, who led a dominant defensive effort by the Mariners in their 42-0 shutout victory over Southern Regional.

Toms River North is 3-0 and ranked No. 2 in The Jeep Store SSN Top 10 heading into its Week 4 matchup with Central Regional. Kazanowsky is the team leader with 29 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 1 sack, and 11 quarterback pressures. Last season, the 6-foot-4, 230-pound Kazanowsky was a Third Team All-Shore selection with 84 tackles, 5 sacks, 13 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 32 hurries.

Kazanowsky secured over 21 percent of all votes cast to win over Marlboro's Anthony Tropeano with Donovan Catholic freshman Najee Calhoun finishing third.
