Shore 80, Lakewood 38

Seniors Brett Sweeney, Donovan Hughes and Richie Studer each scored 14 points and the Blue Devils (14-4, 7-3) rode a balanced attack in beating the Piners (3-15, 1-9) in the final Shore Conference divisional game of the 2022-23 season.

Senior Alex George also poured in 11 points and junior Joe Santi netted 12 off the bench.

Junior Derrick Marsh led Lakewood with a game-high 16 points.

 

Non-Division

Wall 62, Jackson Liberty 57

Senior Matt Eisenberg scored a game-high 24 points and the Crimson Knights (5-15) outlasted the Lions (2-18).

Sophomore Tom Ekberg added 12 points for Wall, which won for the fourth time in five games after a 1-14 start to the season.

Junior Charlie Callahan scored 21 points and sophomore Jayson King added 18 to lead Jackson Liberty.

Freehold Boro 62, Neptune 61 (OT)

Sophomore Brian Tassey scored 23 points and junior Christian DiGiso poured in 22 as the Colonials (8-14) stormed back from a nine-point deficit in the final two minutes to send the game to overtime and stun the Scarlet Fliers (5-13).

Junior Will Hon also contributed 10 points for Freehold Boro.

Senior Daniel Charles led Neptune with 16 points, while senior Sam Cetoute scored 13 and classmate Davionne Pearson chipped in 10 in the loss.

 

Non-Conference

Barnegat 60, Seneca 45

Junior Jamari Smith scored a game-high 20 points and the Bengals (10-12) inched closer to a .500 record with a win over the Golden Eagles.

Sophomore Cole Toddings fired in 13 points and junior Shawn Javines also contributed 12 points for Barnegat, which has gone 9-5 since starting its season off 1-7.

Mainland 58, Red Bank 54 (OT)

Senior Collin Teter scored 20 points with four three-pointers and the Bucs (7-13) built a 16-point second-half lead, but the Mustangs (20-2) mounted a colossal comeback over the final 13 minutes before winning in overtime.

Cohen Cook led Mainland with 20 points, with his Mustangs erasing a 33-17 deficit with a little more than five minutes to play. Mainland, which won its 20th game, cut the Red Bank lead to nine by the end of the third quarter and outscored the Bucs, 24-11, in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Senior Nick Valentino poured in 15 points and junior Braydon Kirkpatrick chipped in 13 for Red Bank.
