Hit-run driver sought in Barnegat Township

If you, or someone you know, drives a dark sedan that suddenly developed some minor front-end damage, Barnegat Township police would like a word. It might be the car that banged into another in a parking lot April 28, then drove off.

Investigators said that it occurred outside Lefty's Tavern, on Route 9, at about 5 PM. It's described as a black or dark blue Chevrolet Impala or Hyundai Sonata, driven by an older white male.

There were no injuries reported. Police did not elaborate on possible charges facing the driver.

Police have yet to identify the driver or the license plate.
