Hiking New Jersey and Beyond: Bushkill Falls [VIDEO]
In my latest "Hiking New Jersey" we actually cross the border into Pennsylvania to hike Bushkill Falls! It's called the Niagra Falls of Pennsylvania and it's a great natural resource just minutes across the New Jersey/Pennsylvania border. There are several trails and several waterfalls for hikers to enjoy.
The longest trail, the red trail, is about 2 miles and covers some rocky terrain and inclines...including stairs that are built around the falls. During our hike we covered over 3 miles and over 40 stories with all the inclines. There are several trails each with varying degrees of difficulty...but something for everyone.
There is an entrance fee to walk the falls and they do have food, restrooms and souvenir shoppes as well. It's about 2 1/2 hour drive from the Shore to the Poconos where the falls are located. The leaves are just beginning to turn colors so as we get further into fall it will make for a very colorful trip if you decide to go.
It is a nice hike and we combined 2 trails to get one longer hike, so check out some video and photos and enjoy a trip to Bushkill Falls!
