We've heard the word "boycott" in the news a lot lately. Especially with the recent Chick-Fil-A controversy.

Over the years, there have been scores of businesses targeted for boycotts based on their political activities, environmental records, working conditions, and any other number of charged topics.

As consumers, especially in this age of social media, we have the ability to directly impact the bottom lines of businesses with whom we disagree.

Just take a look at the Chick-Fil-A topic - their activities against marriage equality have been no secret since at least 2011, but it wasn't until recently that the story gathered steam through social media channels.

So have you ever not shopped at a store, refused to buy a product, or maybe even protested a business because of their positions on issues that you care about?
