As we continue to recover from Sandy it's more important than ever for area business owners and their staffs to offer warm, friendly and helpful customer service to visitors. So, shore area businesses are being offered a free customer service training seminar.

The workshop entitled "Empowering Your Employees to Make a Difference" is open to business owners, managers or front line staff from the entire region. Lori Pepenella of the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce says the program is being offered through the Monmouth County-based Women's Center for Entrepreneurship.

"The Women's Center for Entrepreneurship actually received a grant from the SBA to do this program to really discuss, especially in areas affected by Sandy, the importance of customer service"

Pepenella says the free interactive workshop is aimed at giving businesses the skills to keep customers coming back.

"It's going to go over examples of poor customer service. It's going to go over examples of what is a desirable customer service. They're going to have video and other visual components to add to the discussion. They're going to recommend tools and methods to handle certain situations. There's going to be group discussion. There's going to be a lot of engaging of the audience and the workshop attendees as well as the facilitators."

The workshop takes place this tomorrow, June 18th the Manahawkin Campus of Ocean County College at 195 Cedars Bridge Road from 8am to 10am.

You can register by calling the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce at 609 494 7211 or stop into Visitor Center at 265 W Ninth Street in Ship Bottom, or inquire online at www.visitLBIregion.com All local businesses are welcome to register as their staff.. Coffee will be provided
