Fire Burns at Toms River Home

A fire overnight in Toms River was discovered by a late night passer-by.

Toms  River Police says the driver on Lakehurst Road saw flames coming out of the porch of a two-story home. Firefighters looking for potential victims noticed an open side door and later discovered that the home was vacant.

Toms River Fire Companies #1 and #2 as well as East Dover Fire Company fought the fire that took an nearly an hour to bring under control.

Police say there were no injuries related to the fire.
