Township police say that John Borea was involved in a family dispute at a house on Redwood Drive last Thursday. After being told to leave, according to investigators, Borrea climbed into his Nissan Titan and drove it through the two doors fronting the garage, along with the pillar dividing them. A Nissan Pathfinder inside also took some damage.

Responding officers suspected that Borea was under the influence of alcohol at the time. He was charged with criminal mischief, criminal trespass, harassment, driving while intoxicated, refusal to submit to a breath test and reckless driving.

Borea was transferred to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold to await a court hearing, with bail set at $10,000.
