Egg Harbor woman facing DWI charges after hitting car at Wawa
There were only minor injuries in a two-car crash at the entrance to the Wawa on Delilah Road Sunday night and a driver is now facing DWI charges.
Egg Harbor Police say Sheila Goodson, 57, was trying to make a left turn into the Wawa in her 2013 Acura but didn't yield the right of way to a man trying to make a right into the parking lot just before 11:00 pm in the Farmington section of the township.
The head-on impact caused the Acura to spin around into the westbound lane of Delilah while Braulio Nieves, 31, of Egg Harbor Township also ended up facing west in his 1997 Jeep Cherokee.
Both vehicles sustained multiple airbag deployments and total disabling damage.
Nieves suffered minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
Goodson was treated at the scene by Galloway Township EMS and Atlanticare Paramedics and then was transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center-City Campus.
A juvenile passenger in Goodson’s Acura was also transported to Atlanticare Regional Medical Center-City Campus for minor injuries.
Goodson is charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, careless driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.
She may face criminal charges pending further investigation.
This crash is being investigated by Officer Louis Poletis of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Traffic Safety Unit.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to contact the Traffic Safety Unit at 609-926-2661.
