Do You Wear Shorts in the Cold?

Yes, that guy is snowboarding in shorts. I would assume on purpose.

I don't really know if this is a relatively new trend or if I'm just becoming older and jaded when I see people, mostly kids, wearing shorts in the middle of the winter and think that they're nuts.

I mean I get the whole, "I had to run to the convenience store so I threw on whatever was closest" thing, but kids at the mall, out shopping, etc in shorts when it's 30 degrees, I just don't understand.

The Asbury Park Press tried to get to the bottom of this (pun intended), and basically came up with the non-answer answer of, well, it's just personal preference.
