The student had exited a school bus with lights flashing, and was dragged about 80 feet after impact, police said.

He was unconscious when Hatolzah EMS rushed him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where he was treated for head injuries and other related injuries, police said.

Adler, 26, consented to the blood draw, according to authorities.

Investigators believe that the boy was one of several students leaving the bus that was stopped on a turn from Carey Street onto southbound Clifton Avenue at about 5:18 PM. Adler's 2004 Nissan Sentra was traveling northbound on Clifton.
