The Jersey shore already has a number of famous shipwrecks. From the Morro Castle to The New Era. But nobody was expecting what was just unearthed in Brick.

As crews were working on the Route 35 steel wall project, their equipment ran into something totally unexpected.

About 20 feet down, they discovered what appears to be a 19th century whaling ship.

Obviously a stunning discovery like this is going to take some time to truly uncover, so it's a developing story. Stay tuned, we'll keep you updated.
