Feed Our Children NOW! will gather in the parking lot of the Susquehanna Bank Center in Camden this Friday, during Vans Warped Tour presented by Journeys, in an effort to shatter the official world record for the most food collected in an eight-hour period in one location.

All of the food collected will be distributed through local charities to children in Camden, free of charge.

Trucks will be in and out of the venue all day delivering food from local vendors, and concertgoers are being asked to bring cans in exchange for fast passes to the concert. An adjudicator from Guinness World Records will be on hand to conduct the official count. The current record is 250,000 pounds of food, which is enough to fill seven 18-wheel trucks.

"The summer is a particularly difficult time for children. During the school year, many low-income kids have access to school lunches, and that's not available during the summer months," said Lana Posner, founder of Creative Money Works, Inc., the parent company of Feed Our Children NOW! "Since this problem has continued to grow, it is a critical time for young people to be fed during the summer. We feel very good about being able to do this, at this time when the need is so critical."

Headquartered in Camden, Feed Our Children NOW! partners with Vans Warped Tour presented by Journeys each summer, to hold food drives in every city on the tour. The upcoming food drive will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on July 10, 2015, with the official Guinness Weigh-In at 5:00 p.m. Food will be collected at the entrances of the Susquehanna Bank Center during the concert.

The public can also make donations along the Camden Waterfront, in Lot 12 between Cooper and Penn streets. The entrance is off Penn Street and the exit is off Pearl Street. Online donations can be made at feedourchildrennow.org.
