New details emerge in the case of a body recovered late Thursday afternoon.

Authorities have identified the man as 51-year old Edward Kosar, a homeless man Ocean County investigators say had been living in a wooded area around Toms River.

The Ocean County Prosecutors office says Kosar was reportedly drinking earlier in the day and stumbled from possible intoxication.

Ocean County Sheriff Mike Mastronardy reported that a drone dispatched by his office spotted the lifeless body in the waters off Mathis Plaza, near Route 166, at 3:42 PM.

The discovery was within the hour that police, fire and ambulance crews began rapidly converging in the mini-park along Route 166, south of the bridge over the Toms.

Mastronardy did not disclose the victim's identity. Calls to South Toms River PD's evening supervisor were not returned, nor was an inquiry to Toms River PD spokesman Ralph Stocco.
