We still have all of today (Friday) to get ready for the impending storm and lets hope we need less then more, but being prepared is always a good thing. Considering the storm may go until sometime Sunday it's probably a safe bet to think you may need household items til Tuesday ... assuming Monday is a messy clean-up kinda day.

  • Food - Shop for few days and include some non-perishables .... if electric is out cooking can be difficult so maybe things like peanut butter, dry cereal etc
  • Water - Stock up on bottled water
  • Pet Supplies - Make sure your furry friends are all set .... Be sure to have an area cleared so your dogs can get outside ... even if we have 2 feet of snow.
  • Move Your Vehicles off the road so the plows have easy access, if you live in flood prone area move your vehicles to higher ground.
  • Secure your garbage and recycle cans to avoid them blowing.
  • Get a jump on household cleaning, like dishes and laundry because without power you won't have dishwashers, washing machines and dryers.
  • Flashlights and Radio with batteries so you can use if power is out.
  • Have your snow shovels, De-icer etc handy and nearby
  • Snacks ... have some goodies for the family to enjoy
  • Bills, If you have bills due whether online or by mail ... make sure you take care of in the event you have limited internet or mail service is interupted.
  • Fill your prescriptions and any other medical needs
  • Have extra blankets. coats etc if your heat is out.
  • Fill your vehicles with gas.
  • Games, Coloring Books etc Kids get very bored ... very quick when the power is out.
