FEMA continues its regionalization with the closure of its disaster recovery centers in Bay Head and in Newark. Doors at both close at 7 PM.

Here at the shore, it began earlier this month when staffers in the Harvey Cedars and Little Egg Harbor centers moved to the Southern Ocean County Resource Center in Manahawkin.

Federal officials cite declining foot traffic in determining the closures. They estimate that about 2,000 storm victims visited the Bay Head site since it opened November 16, and about 1,000 at the Newark site since November 11.

The Brick Township recovery center continues in the Brick Civic Plaza on Chambers Bridge Road. Belmar's is inside the Municipal Building on Main Street.
