New York Times best-selling author Amy Stewart is coming to the Ocean County Library. Ms. Stewart will visit the Toms River branch, 101 Washington St., with a reading and book signing 7 pm on Thursday, September 10th

Amy Stewart introduces people to one of America’s first female deputy sheriffs in her newly-released “Girl Waits with Gun,” which is based upon a true story…… Stewart tells the almost-forgotten, true story of Bergen County’s Constance Kopp and her journey in law enforcement. Told in Stewart’s signature mix of comedy, history and fact, Constance must defeat dark secrets from her family’s past, bring criminals to justice and overcome gender expectations of the early 20th century.

Stewart has also written six nonfiction books, including “The Drunken Botanist,” “Wicked Bugs,” “Wicked Plants” and “Flower Confidential.”

Admission to the program is free and open to the public. Registration is required. For more information or to register, call the branch 732-349-6200 or go to the library website: www.theoceancountylibrary.org , click on the “Events & News” icon, then click on “Calendar of Events.”
