Monmouth County authorities are asking for the public's help in tracking down an armed robber wanted for allegedly holding up the Shell gas station convenience store on Clark Street in Keyport overnight Monday, around 2:30 a.m.

The Prosecutor's Office has released surveillance video and photos of the suspect, who authorities say assaulted a clerk with a box-cutter knife.

Acting Prosecutor Christopher Gramiccioni said in a press release the suspect is described as a white man, standing about 5-foot-11-inches, and was wearing a dark-colored hooded Under Armour sweatshirt.

The suspect got away with a black cash register and was last seen fleeing toward Gerard Street in the direction of the Aberdeen and Matawan borders, Gramiccioni said.

Anonymous tips can also be called into Monmouth County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-671-4400, text "MONMOUTH" and the tip to 274637 or emailed through the website at www.monmouthcountycrimestoppers.com. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of criminals.
